what do you observe on the surface of zinc granules

on the surface of the metals zinc and aluminium the layer of oxides can be observed.............this proccess is called tarnishing.............dont missunderstand tarnishing as rusting...........as rusting occurs on iron and tarnishing occurs on zinc and aluminium..............
