What do you observe when CO is passed over heated copper oxide

Answer: As carbon monoxide is a strong reducing agent, it will reduce copper (II) oxide to copper. It will make carbon dioxide by combining with oxygen.

Here is the reaction :         CuO + CO -------> Cu + CO₂
