H2SO4+ZN----->ZNSO4+H2

WHEN DIL SULPHURIC ACID IS ADDED YO GRANULATED ZINC A DISPLACEMENT REACTION TAKES PLACE AND ZINC SULPHATE IS FORMED AND HYDROGEN GAS IS RELEASED

as we know zinc is more reactive than hydrogen hence displaces hydrogen from dilute acids . when dil H2SO4 is added to zinc granules hydrogen gets displaced and zinc sulphate is formed and hydrogen gas is evolved.
