what do you observe when you add a few drops of Acetic Acid to a test tube containing the following (a)phenomenon (b)methyl orange(c)distilled water (d)sodium hydrogen carbonate

Assuming the first option is phenolphthalein,

a) Remains colourless
b) It changes colour from yellow to orange (also to red when pH decreases more and more)
c) A colourless solution will be formed.
d) That you should definitely try in your volcano experiment! It shows brisk effervescence and generates CO2 along with it.

Has acetic acid is an acid therefore we would be going to take the sample as acid and would be doing the experiments.
a). phenolphthalein - will remain colorless
b). methyl orange- pinkish red
c). distilled water- colorless
d). sodium hydrogen Carbonate- salt will be formed along release of CO2
