what do you observe when you drop a few drops of hydrochloric acid to test tube containing blue Litmus Paper, distilled water, phenolphthalein sodium carbonate?

The colour of litmus paper changes to red and water becomes acidic.

When we add few drops of acetic acid to a test tube containing are as :

a ) . Phenolphthalein : Acetic acid will remain colourless in phenolphthalein

b ) . Distilled water : Acetic acid will dissolve in distilled water forming a clear solution

c ) . Universal indicator : It will give orange colour with acetic acid.

d ) . Sodium hydrogen carbonate : It will give brisk effervescence due to the

formation of CO₂ gas.
