phenolphthalein-no change

zn granules-zncl2 + h2

blue litmus- blue changes to red colour

sodium hydrogen carbonate- nacl+h20+co2

When we add few drops of acetic acid to a test tube containing are as :

a ) . Phenolphthalein : Acetic acid will remain colourless in phenolphthalein

b ) . Distilled water : Acetic acid will dissolve in distilled water forming a clear solution

c ) . Universal indicator : It will give orange colour with acetic acid.

d ) . Sodium hydrogen carbonate : It will give brisk effervescence due to the

formation of CO₂ gas.
