In the Bazaars of Hyderabad
In the Bazaars of Hyderabad is an amazing poem written by the Nightingale of India, Sarojini Naidu. Through the mesmerizing lines of the poem, the poet is trying to express the beauty of her motherland through the sounds and wares that she is totally accustomed to, in the bazaar.
In the bazaar she finds merchants, magicians and musicians and she is asking them what they are selling. In turn, she is describing to us, the traditional wares of an Indian bazaar that is not conquered by foreign hands.
The main theme of the poem is the contribution to the uprising Swadeshi movement by describing the beauty of traditional India and those things that are made and are used by Indians. Through her pen, Sarojini Naidu is trying to create an effect of 'Swadeshiness' among her fellow comrades.
