WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT COLLEGE CLEANLINESS AND GARBAGE? *

Answer:
On-campus housing bathrooms, especially freshman halls, have the least luck in regards to cleanliness. In Reilly Hall, approximately 100 students are living on one floor. When all of these students have to share public bathrooms daily, there is no limit to the sanitation issues. It is aggravating, to say the least, to find the bathrooms in such a condition on a regular basis.
One of the problems is when people do not clean up after themselves. These bathrooms become horrific within mere hours after the custodial staff has already cleaned. Toilets are clogged, feminine products are on the floor (not in the trash) and toilets are not flushed. The list goes on and on.
This is not due to one specific person, however. When multiple people don't clean up after themselves, these bathrooms become the most terrifying place imaginable before the custodial staff can arrive again. Be that as it may, this can no longer be the case. Nor should it have ever been to begin with.
As students reach the age of adulthood, it's time to grow up and tidy up after themselves. Young adults should not rely on the fact that there is custodial staff on campus. The staff has several other things to do beside clean up after the thousands of students.
According to the NAU Facility Services Operation website, the university custodial staff cleans the floors, empties all public trash bins, cleans the walls, washes interior windows and many other duties. With all these other tasks for the custodial staff, their sole focus is not to maintain the bathrooms or clean up messes.
The upper-division, on-campus housing doesn't have such a major issue. This is due to the fact that less students share a bathroom. On top of this, the bathroom is something the students clean, not the custodial staff.
