NAM a non -aligned system can play a big role in controlling and changing the present international environment. Moreover, NAM is providing india with an untapped advantage to emerge as a world leader especially in the South- east Asia and

developing countries.

The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) is a forum of 120 developing world states that are not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc.

The other important objectives of the NAM are: To eliminate all those causes which could lead to war. To protect the nascent freedom of the new-born independent countries of Asia and Africa from colonial domination. To oppose colonialism, imperialism and racial discrimination.
