Answer:
The idea of astronomy is to learn more about the universe we live in. We humans are curious, and we have never been satisfied or content to hold still and wait. We always want to know, “what’s over the next hill And what’s over the next one?”
Astronomy is the ultimate expression of this need. Right now, we CAN’T go to the stars. Not even close. But we want to. Nearly every human who has looked up at the stars wonders what it might be like to be among them, to visit them. And right now, it’s the one place we can’t go. We’re stuck here in our own solar system.
And deep down, we hate that. We want to GO, we want to SEE. We have a thirst for knowledge and exploration, and the universe says,

- The goal of astronomy is to have a better understanding of the cosmos we live in. Humans are curious creatures who have never been satisfied or content to wait. "What's over the next hill?" we always wonder. What's in store for the next one?"
- The ultimate expression of this yearning is astronomy. We are now unable to travel to the stars. That's not even close. But we'd like to. Almost everyone who has gazed up at the stars has fantasised about what it might be like to be among them, to visit them.
- And it's the one place we can't go right now. We've been stranded in our own solar system for a long time.
- And deep down, we despise it. We want to GET OUT AND SEE SOMETHING. The universe says, "We have a yearning for knowledge and exploration."
What is the importance of astronomical phenomena?
- The motions of astronomical objects determine the day-night cycle, the seasons of the year, the tides, the timing of eclipses, and the visibility of comets and meteor showers.
- Easily observed astronomical events have formed the basis for time keeping, navigation, and myths or sagas in cultures around the world.
How did the astronomical phenomena observed by the astronomers affect the lives of our ancestors?
- From the earliest days of civilization, astronomy has had an outsized impact on our culture.
- Ancient humans gave names to the constellations and tracked them so they knew when to plant their crops.
- Astrologers kept a careful watch on the sky for any change that might foretell doom.
How does astronomy impact us today?
- Astronomy has and continues to revolutionize our thinking on a worldwide scale.
- In the past, astronomy has been used to measure time, mark the seasons, and navigate the vast oceans.
- As one of the oldest sciences astronomy is part of every culture's history and roots.
