Answer:

The story "Black Aeroplane" is narrated by a pilot who is feeling happy that he is flying a plane over a city that is sleeping at night. He is flying from Paris to London. Once he crosses Paris, he sees that a storm is approaching. Instead of turning back for safety, he decides to go ahead because he wants to follow his dream.

Things quickly get out of control and at the nth moment, he sees another plane and a pilot who wants to rescue them. This pilot guides the narrator out of the storm and disappears as soon as morning approaches. Later he finds out there was no other plane. It could have been a ghost pilot who guided them, or even God, who lent him a helping hand to guide him towards safety and the fulfillment of his dream.
