When Chuck returned back from the hospital,Duke, leaped at Chuck to greet him but as Chuck was paralysed,he ,fell backwards and it took no time for the dog to read the situation and from that time onwards, he, always took up a post behind his master's bedroom clock.He knew that his responsibility was to get Chuck back on his feet again.He started by just taking a step and this step led to Chuck walking on his own and continuing his job as a sales manager. Duke knew that he couldn't be by his master's forever and whenever Chuck would trip or fall,Duke,would stand as a post waiting for his master to get up by himself.These reasons made Duke a responsible and understanding dog.
