What do you think of Korean Plastic surgery?

I think that plastic surgery is viewed very differently in South Korea than it is here in the U.S.
When my sister was a teenager, my mother offered to have her nose done, but my sister declined stating that she didn’t want to mislead people and that she didn’t hate her nose too much.
Here in the U.S., people would generally agree with her that unless there is something wrong, they would generally leave things to nature that it is somehow more “honest.”
To the South Koreans, it isn’t about honesty or deception, it is about maximizing your potential. If having plastic surgery isn’t a secret, then how is it being dishonest? Like make-up, it is just a fact of life. And therefore, in a culture where plastic surgery is done a lot, it would be no more dishonest than wearing make-up would be.
One can make an argument that both are good looking women before the make-up and/or the plastic surgery, but few would argue that they look worse in their after photo.
So, to restate, I don’t see anything wrong with plastic surgery. It is what it is as long as your expectations are reasonable.
