Yes!!it plays an important role..
As the Sc St and dalits are the depressed classes..many people suppress them as untouchables and most of them also feel hazitated and weak and not abe to fight for their reservations..and they akso have to prove themselves more as compared to the upper classes..So thats why reservation plays an important role..as the provide them social justice in standing in political affairs and in other streams..
