Affected people in the Narmada Valley protested against the project due to large scale deforestation, displacement of homes and shortage of river water supply for irrigation.

These affected people have been told to vacate their homes after leaving their houses and agricultural lands.

Height of the Sardar Sarovar Dam was raised to a height of 139 metres which led to mass protests from tribal communities of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat.

There was a huge protest for this project by the framers and the social activists both.

Their main concern was the increasing number of projects that are being made on this river and this has proved fatal for the agriculture as there is no water for the framers.

So the government took measures to curb the protest and come up with some solution.

Amrutha1902: Don't u know how to frame sentences in English? Already u wrote this project was by farmers and social activists.... Then after that u r writing both...... This is meaningless dude
