what do you think would be the observation observed particle scattering experiment is carried out using a foil of metal other than gold ( give answer in easy language )

gold is a metal that can be beaten into thin sheets to the maximum . so in case of gold ,the scattering of light takes place at maximum but if foil is used ,there wouldn't be much scattering, therefore the desired result will not be obtained.

In the α-scattering experiment, a gold foil was taken because gold is malleable and a thin foil of gold can be easily made.

It is difficult to make such foils from other metals.
