There are many theories in our geographical science.

The theory of the plate tectonics is one of them.

According to this theory our earth's upper surface or the crust is the divided into seven major parts and many minor parts.

These parts are known as the tectonic plates.These plates float uppon the inner surface of the earth's interior.

Due to this floating state ,these plates often move from it's plate.And this movement often cause different geographical phenomenons.(eg. Earthquake etc.)
