pH is measure of acidity or basicity of a solution.where p means potenz which is a German word . acidic nature is due to H+ ions and basic nature is due to OH-ions.
pH of distilled water is 7 unless and until it comes in contact with atmosphere. And pH of salt solution is almost equal to 7 due to low basicity of Cl- ions.
