The ‘man from Petushkee’ was a thoroughly confused and absent-minded person, rightfully called a ‘muddlehead’.
He mixed up his clothes, wore them inside-out and often mistook the saucepan for his hat! He once walked up to the tram conductor and started speaking to him in a strange manner – mixing up all his words, that it frightened the conductor thoroughly. He got into a carriage that was stopped for repairs, hoping to travel and found himself at Petushkee, each time he woke up from his sleep inside the carriage!
‘Muddlehead’ is a poem by Ogden Nash (1902 - 1971), an American poet known for his witty, rhyming style of writing poems.
