Explanation: From the lesson “The Tattered Blanket”, we can understand the present value of human relationships. In this lesson Gopi a 32 year-old-man, came to visit his old mother a sever years later. The actual reason behind his sudden occurence is he wants the share of his property. From this we can understand how selfish people have become in this present generation. Every person is giving importance to money rather than his/her family. Families in present generation rarely spend time with each other. Many joint families are divided into nuclear families where the child doesn't even know the value of a person. This really has a very bad affect on relations. Children who are grown in nuclear families don't know the importance of relations. As a result, when they grew up they join their parents in old-age homes because he/she sees them like a burden. Hence we can understand that in present generation, less importance is given to relations than money.
