Adaptation means change of body or habit to be alive in extreme surrounding.
Because of adaptation the dogs of polar area has big furs to keep the heat in their body.
DEFINITION : An adaptation is a trait produced by DNA or an indigenous’s interaction with the environment. Adaptation is the physical or behavioural characteristic of an organism that helps an organism to survive better in the surrounding environment.
EXAMPLES :
1. Shells of certain animal embryos such as reptiles and birds are examples of adaptation to a terrestrial environment. The hard shell prevents the embryo from dying by providing physical protection outside of the body.
2. A fish living in water that suddenly becomes more acidic has to shift its body chemistry to adapt itself.
3. The tropical rainforest environment is characterized by high temperatures and an abundance of rainfall, leading to high levels of humidity. Tropical rainforest flora have to adapt to an environment that is always hot and wet.
