Answer

In chemistry, an alkali is a basic, ionic salt of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal chemical element. An alkali also can be defined as a base that dissolves in water.

Eg. Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) - It is often called caustic soda.

a) Strong alkali - Potassium hydroxide (KOH), Barium hydroxide (Ba(OH)2)

b) Weak alkali - Ammonium hydroxide (NH₄OH), Hydrogen fluoride (HF)
