Auto number is a type of data used in Microsoft access the tables to generate automatically incremented numeric counter . It may be used to create an identify coloum which uniqely identify each record of a table . Only one auto number is allowed in each table

AutoNumber stores an integer that increments automatically as you add records. If the table does not have a primary key, then AutoNumber uniquely identifies the records. If we delete a record, its AutoNumber value is not reused, and remaining records are not updated. The ID field in a new table is automatically assigned the AutoNumber datatype.
No, we cannot change the datatype of any other field to AutoNumber.
