The physical process where matter moves from one state to another. Examples of such changes are melting, evaporation, boiling, condensation, freezing, crystallization, and sublimation.

  1. Solids change into liquid with increase in temperature. (Solid → Liquid)
  2. A liquid changes into gas by increase in temperature. (Liquid → Gas)
  3. Gas changes into liquid by decrease in temperature. (Gas → Liquid)
  4. liquid changes into solid by decrease in temperature.

it means conversion of solid into liquid ,liquid into gas or gas into solid or liquid or we can say from one state to another state ........eg change of solid state like ice into liquid state like water .......

in some cases, we see that ice is melted to form water in summer season and requires no temperature from outside this is done in room temp or 0 degree centrigrate but in winter season we see that temp is very low so in this ice is not melted whereas water freezes to form ice........

hope u understood clearly.....
