Diploblasty

- Ectoderm is the external germ layer.
- Endoderm is the internal germ layer .
- In Diploblastic organisms there is also an undifferentiated layer known as the mesoglea , which is found between the ectoderm and the endoderm .
- Diploblasty is shown by lower organisms in the animal kingdom from, Phylum - Porifera to Phylum Ctenophora.
Note
- The other type of arrangement of germ layer is Triploblasty.
- In triploblasty a third germ layer known as the mesoderm is seen in between the ectoderm and entoderm.
- Triploblasty is shown by Higher organisms in the animal kingdom , from Phylum - Platyhelmintes to Phylum - Chordata .
