A displacement reaction takes place when a higher reactive metal reacts with the salt of a reactive metal, it diplaces it from the salt.
•No reaction would occur when a strip of copper us immersed in zinc sulphate solution as copper is less reactive than zinc and so it cannot displace zinc from its salt.
