food web is an interconnection of several food chains taking place in that particular ecosystem.Food chain consists of three,four or five animals that are dependent on their smaller ones for food.It is unidirectional.Example:lion can eat a deer but a deer cannot.Example of food web:grass----deer-----lion .At the same time a grasshopper can also eat grass instead of deer and the deer can be even eaten by a tiger at that time thus giving rise to a different and unique food chain.For diagrammatic representation you can draw food chain of the animals given above along with trophic levels
