Q. What do you understand by fuel efficiency?
ANSWER :
Fuel efficiency is determined by its calorific value which is amount to heat energy produced on complete combustion of 1 kg fuel. The calorific value of a fuel is expressed in kJ/kg.
A good fuel should have high calorific value. That means it should produce large amount of heat per unit mass.
Explanation:
reactions :
Reaction 1 :
Iron + Copper sulphate ⟶ Iron sulphate + Copper
Reaction 2 :
Iron sulphate + Copper Iron sulphate + Copper
Reaction 2 will not occur as Iron is more reactive than copper , so copper could not replace iron from iron sulphate .
Type of reaction between copper sulphate solution and iron : Displacement reaction .
Displacement reaction : A reaction in which an element replaces the less reactive element from its compound forming another compound with the anion is called single displacement reaction .
