Intra state trade is the trade conducted between the States.

  • If an enterprise in state Maharasthra provides commodities to someone in Gujarat, then the enterprise is conducting an intrestate trade.
  • Whereas, Intrastate business is when an enterprise conducts trade within a specific state. For example: Trade only in Gujarat. It is critical because states only have the authority to control intrastate business.
  • Therefore, if an enterprise conducts intrastate business with an out-of-state enterprise in their state of residence, then they must obtain a certificate of authority to carry out business in that state.
