(a) Preamble is the preface or the introductory page of a constitution. Preamble is of great significance as it deals with the ideals and principles of the constitution. The Preamble makes the intentions of the constitution quite
clear. The Preamble is the soul to the Indian constitution The Preamble states the reasons and guiding values of the constitution.

(b) In the Preamble of the Indian Constitution ”We the people of India” signifies that people of India are sovereign and ruler of the country. They govern the country by electing their representatives.

(c) ’We the people of India’ in the Preamble of the ’lndian Constitution’ contains the Philosophy on which the entire constitution has been built. It provides a standard to examine and evaluate any law and action of the government, to find out whether it is good or bad, actually it is the soul of the Indian Constitution.

(d)-’We the people of India’ describes that the constitution has been drawn up and enacted by the people through their representatives and not handed down to them by a king or any outside power.

(e) The word secular signifies religious equality. Indian politics is above petty religious considerations and professes due respect for all religions. The word secular has been inserted in the Preamble to the Constitution through the 42th Amendment.

(f) The Preamble seeks to provide equality of status and give its citizens all type of freedom for the religion.
