what do you understand by propagation of sound

rajrohit97710: The Propagation of sound. Sound is a sequence of waves of pressure whichpropagates through compressible media such as air or water. (Sound canpropagate through solids as well, but there are additional modes ofpropagation). During their propagation, waves can be reflected, refracted, or attentuated by the medium

Sound is wave motion of material solid, liquid or gas. When a source creates waves, this motion moves through the medium which is called wave motion. Propagation of sound is essentially travelling disturbance in a material medium.

Unlike electromagnetic waves sound needs a material medium to move so it does not travel in vacuum.
