Resonance is the delocalization/Displacement of electrons within the same molecule in all possible directions.
Resonance takes only when there is a conjugation between adjacent three atoms.
Resonance causes the delocalization of electrons , as per the atomic thepry , release of electrons from any orbital releases energy making that atom less energetic and more stable.
When electrons are displaced a small amount of energy 'hV' is released which makes the carbon atoms in the benzene ring more stable and hence the Resonance causes Stability of Benzene ring.
