In thermodynamics, a reversible process is a process whose direction can be "reversed" by inducing infinitesimal changes to some property of the system via its surroundings, with no increase in entropy. Throughout the entire reversible process, the system is in thermodynamic equilibrium with its surroundings.
Where as a irreversible process is one which can be reversed. If tried to do so entropy of the system and surrounding will get increased .
examples if reversible:
Energy transfer as heat due to infinitesimal temperature nonuniformity.
Electric current flow through a zero resistance.
examples of irreversible:
Plastic deformation.
Flow of electric current through a resistance.
Thanks.
