What do you understand by roasting, calcination and corrosion?

The process of heating an ore to a high temperature in excess of air and converting it into its oxide is called roasting .
For eg zinc blend (ZnS) ,PbS(Galena).
The process of strongly heating the concentrated ore(carbonate ore)in the limited supply of air and converting it into its oxide is called calcination.
For eg Zinc carbonate(ZnCO3)
The slow process of decay and destruction of metal due to effect of air,moisture and acids on it is known as corrosion
