latent heat can be described as hidden heat so we can say that at the time of any change of state in a liquid or solid at that time there is a latent heat which is absorbed by the substance in form of latent heat of fusion or latent heat of vaporization.
since the latent heat of fusion absorb heat water time of ice it didn't absorb because at that time heat is released so no latent heat of fusion is of ice
