The indian independence act , 1947, by which two independent states og india and pakistan were created, recognized the existence of the constituent assembly of india. This legal sanction enabled the constituent assembly to function after India's independence. To carry on its work it appointed eight committees. The drafting committee under the chairmanship of Dr.Ambedkar was setup on 29 of Aug. , 1947and was entrusted with the task of drafting the Constitution
