The Council of Ministers remains in power at the 'pleasure' of the president. Governors of states are also appointed by the president who shall work at the pleasure of the president. Per Article 156, the president is empowered to dismiss a governor who has violated the constitution in his acts.

first of all let's understand the meaning of pleasure of president.

it means sovereign power to control the terms and the tenure of employee or official.

Attorney general, Governor of states and some other posts are appointed by the president of India and they can't be removed from the post although there are ways to impeach them .they are appointed and removed by the president and their tenure is not fixed they can remain the governor of a state or the attorney general even if the ruling party which recommend their names loses elections.Thats why it is said that these posts are held as per the pleasure of the president
