Driving Force is a term having wider meaning than the term Force. To put it in simple words, the Cause of any phenomenon in nature is the Driving Force of/in that phenomenon. This cause can also be something other than the Force (as perceived in general, which is mechanical force measured in Newton or pounds). It is something that makes things (phenomenon) happen.

For example, Eelectromotive Force abbreviated as emf, is the cause for the flow of charge when two terminals of a battery are connected. Thus, emf is the driving force in this phenomenon, however, we know that it is not a force in general.

Hope this makes some sense!

The internal and external factors that influence the decisions and policies an organization makes to stay competitive. Internal forces include core capabilities, employee turnover, product and technological innovation; external forces include economic conditions, competition, demographic changes, technological evolution, social trends, local and national politics, and environmental issues.
hope it helps you
