A group of people who usually shares a general lifestyle and business is called the Human Society. Human society can be categorized into many groups; depending upon the people who are classifying society. For instance, the Anthropologists describes the societies upon the "method of subsistence" they had such as Hunter Gatherers (people who survived by hunting animals and gathering fruits), Pastoralists (people who survived by raising animals for dairy products and meat), Agriculturalist (people who depend on agriculture for their survival) etc.

Similarly, the classification by Political Scientists is based on the political structure such as Bands (those have loosened standard and informal administration customs), Tribes (who based their political structure on kinship relationships), Chiefdom (large and more elaborate organizations) and State (the most complex administrative system) etc.
