perimeter is sum of all sides of given figure.

area is the size of the surface that you can calculated by multiplying the length by the width.

Perimeter is the outer boundary of any thing...for example perimeter of rectangle is 2(l+b). or...the outer fencing of a garden will be its perimeter.
Area is the part inside the boundary....for example..the ground within the fencing will be the area of the garden...
