The period which marks the birth of art and literature in the 14th century is known as Renaissance. In ancient French, renaissance implies "rebirth."

Secularism arises from the term secular, indicating “belong to this world”.  Before the development of the Renaissance, feudal society had been chiefly disquieted with sanctification and regeneration in the immortality.  The new budgetary and administrative possibilities initiating up for Europe in the Late Middle Ages emboldened more people to take an interest in this environment.  Throughout the Renaissance, people saw life on Earth as worth living for its own sake, not just as an ordeal to endure before going to heaven.  The art of the period, in particular, manifested this secular vitality, explaining detailed and authentic landscape, genetics, and environment.

Humanism correlates to secularism because it explains the notion which put up human beings,  irrespective of their faith as the focus of consciousness in life.   The art which was depicted in the 14th century depicted the human body as a figurine of virtue in its individual power, and not like "comic strip" attribute whose only understanding to subsist was for the grandeur of almighty..
