The story, "The Lost Spring" written by Anees Jung is a mirror reflection of the reality today.

The tittle of the story is quite suitable as it reflects the lost childhood of children like Saheb and Mukesh. The word "spring" is used for the childhood which has been lost due to the unfavourable conditions in the society.

At the very young age of childhood where there children are expected to enjoy their lives fruitfully in the pleasant colours of joy and vigour, some deprived children are stunted in this society. They have lost their spring somehow in the stigma of poverty and caste.

Children like Saheb, become wage earners with their parents. No education is on hand for them. Children like Mukesh, want to achieve their goals but due to caste stigma they have suffer.

So all this shows the suitability of the tittle, The Lost Spring.
