Answer:

We know that heat flows from a body at higher temperature to a body at lower temperature. But,how does this heat gets transferred from one body to another?

Heat can be transmitted through solids, liquids and gases. The manner in which these States of matter transmit heat is different. There are three distinct ways in which heat flows from a hot body to a cold body or from one part of the body to another. These are conduction, convection and radiation.

Convection:

Convection is the mode of transfer of heat in fluids wherein the molecules actually move from one part of the fluid to the other.

Conduction:

Conduction is the process of transfer of heat energy in solids, from one molecule to another, without the actual movement of the molecules.

Radiation:

The transfer of heat from a hot body to a cold body directly without hearing the space in between, and which does not require any medium is called radiation.

Hope it helps.
