Union list
The Union List is a list of 100 numbered items (the last item is numbered 97) given in Seventh Schedule in the Constitution of India on which Parliament has exclusive power to legislate.
State list
The State List or List-II is a list of 61 items. Initially there were 66 items in the list in Schedule Seven to the Constitution of India.
Concurrent list
The Concurrent List or List-II(Seventh Schedule) is a list of 52 items (though the last item is numbered 47) given in the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution of India. It includes the power to be considered by both the central and state government.

These are different lists mentioned in our constitution(and several others) through which "power sharing" in done on various levels of governments:
- Union List: This is a list of subjects mentioned in our constitution, on which only Union Government has power and authority to makes laws and decisions. These are majorly the subjects of national interest e.g. defence, industries, foreign affairs, railways, banking etc. 100 items are included in the list
- State List: This is a list of subjects mentioned in our constitution, on which primarily State Governments has power to make decisions, but in case of any decision being repugnant to any provision made by the parliament, the law to state prevail, and to extent be void. These are majorly the subjects of local importance e.g. Public Order, public health, pilgrimages, law & order etc. 61 items are included in the list.
- Concurrent List: This is a list of subjects mentioned in our constitution, on which both state as well as Union Government has right for decision making, but in case of any dispute the decision of Union Government will prevail. These are the subjects of collective importance e.g. criminal law, marriage, divorce, trade & commerce etc. 52 items are included in this list.
