As a parent, I can only image they have your well-being and safety in mind. But with that said, I feel that respect is important, children should be treated with respect but also learn to treat others with respect. I do respect my son’s privacy, but we have a very open style, we never close our doors during the day, usually not at night when we’re sleeping, unless necessary. He respects my privacy as well, but he is welcome into my room to get whatever he needs, his friends however are not. He is also an only child, so I understand where privacy can be a huge issue with siblings and kids tend to guard their space more. I remember because I was NOT an only child and I needed my own space to be mine
