friction is the opposing force which acts against the direction of motion
In my views friction is necessary as we are able to walk due to friction ,we are able to write due to friction ,we are able to swim die to friction and friction due to water is known as *drag*

friction is a force which acts opposite to any motion.

For example drag a fluid friction acts
on airplane when it is
flying therefore airplane
are digned to have a
narrow body and
poined head to
overcome drag.

And also according to Newton's first law of motion an object tends to remain in motion until and external force is applied on it hence whenever we roll a ball on the surface it gets stop but how because an opposite external frictional force is applied on it which is friction.
