ENDOSMOSIS -
endosmosis occurs when a cell in placed in a strong hypertonic solution . the surrounding has a more dilute solution than the solution inside the cell. therefore water moves from its region of high pressure (surrounding water ) to its regin of low pressure(inside the cell )thus swelling up the cell.
Eg - when a cell is placed in tap water

EXOSMOSIS
endosmosis occurs when a cell in placed in a strong hypotonic solution . the surrounding has a less dilute solution than the solution inside the cell. therefore water moves from its region of high pressure (inside the cell ) to its regin of low pressure ( surrounding water )thus shrinking the cell.
EG - when a cell is placed in strong sugar solution
