The term neuron or nerve cell means the same . Neuron has 3 main parts they are -

1. Cell body - In cell body it contains nissle granules .
2. Dentrites - Each corner of cell body has hair like structures called Dentrites . The function of this is to pass the information from one neuron to other.
3. Axon - At one corner of cell body it contains a long thread like structure called axon.It is protected by Mylein sheet . The gap between two Mylein sheet is Nodes of Ranvier.
The axon ends with nerve terminal.
