The reason being that, steep slope shows higher voltage and lower current. And we know that

Resistance is directly proportional to the Voltage .

And, Resistance is inversely proportional to the current.

So, if the voltage is more thus resistance will also be more.

And if current is less so resistance will also be more.

Hence the graph shows higher resistance.
