If you take a very recently dead cadaver that deceased under normal atmospheric pressures, and then suddenly placed it into extreme atmospheric pressures different to those the deceased died in, I’m sure you’d find atmospheric pressure would still ‘work’ very observably.
The only main thing that gets noticed when a living person is exposed to extreme atmospheric pressure is that they die. That’s not an observation we can make as easily on the already deceased, but rest assured these same pressures would still affect a corpse.
